How to read a supplement label in 60 seconds

Serving size, amount per serving, blends and allergens: the four things to check before you buy any tub.

A label tells you far more than the front of the tub. Here is the quick routine our team uses whenever we look at a new product.

  • Check the serving size first. Every other number depends on it.
  • Look for exact amounts. A "blend" with one total weight hides how much of each ingredient you get.
  • Read the full ingredient list, which runs from largest to smallest amount.
  • Find the allergen statement and the batch number.
