When is the best time to visit the lake? A season-by-season guide
Misty autumn mornings, snowy sauna nights, spring birdsong or long summer swims: here is what each season at the lodge feels like.

Guests often ask us when the lodge is at its best. The honest answer is that every season has its own reason to come.
Autumn: mist and fire
From late September the forest turns copper and gold, mornings start with mist on the lake and the fireplaces are lit every evening.
Winter: snow and sauna
Crisp, quiet days, snowshoe trails and the best sauna sessions of the year, with a roll in the snow instead of a lake plunge.
Summer: swims and long evenings
Warm water, canoes at sunrise and dinner on the terrace until the light finally fades after ten.
