Road test day checklist: 12 things to do before you leave home
Documents, glasses, a good breakfast and a warm-up drive. The simple checklist our learners use on test day.

Most road test faults happen in the first five minutes, when nerves are highest. A calm morning routine makes a real difference.
- Pack your learner permit and appointment confirmation the night before.
- Wear comfortable shoes with thin soles.
- Eat a proper breakfast and drink some water.
- Book a 60-minute warm-up lesson right before the test.
- Arrive at the test center 15 minutes early.
During the road test
Exaggerate your mirror checks a little, keep a safe following distance and if you make a mistake, let it go. One minor fault does not fail a test.
