March to May: quiet beaches, low prices
Spring is the best value of the year, with three-night minimum stays and long walks on empty sand. Bring a jumper for the evenings.
June to August: book by January
Summer weeks with school holidays sell out first. Most homes take Saturday-to-Saturday bookings in July and August.
September and October: the locals' favourite
The sea is at its warmest, the crowds have gone home and nightly rates drop by up to a third.
